Hip Impingement
The condition is usually apparent in young athletic individuals who start to get pain in the groin and hip area. Pain is activity related and severe enough to result in stopping sporting activities. Quite frequently, it is mistaken as a "groin strain" and patients are treated by physiotherapy.
Patients may find certain movements of the hip to be uncomfortable. This includes flexion of the hip towards the chest, as in putting on shoes, also there is a restriction in rotation of the hip Joint.
